Portsmouth and Southsea Tree Wardens
Tree Identification Walk in Milton Park
Sunday 23 May 2010 2pm - 4pm

The walk was led by Jon Stokes, Director of Rural Programmes with the Tree Council.  Approximately 30 people attended on a perfect sunny Sunday afternoon.  Jon provided us with an erudite and stimulating, to say nothing of passionate, two hours of fascinating information about the trees in Milton Park.  We followed the Milton Park Tree Trail to some degree but Jon was happy to go “off piste” and describe the nature and habit of other trees of interest.  Some of the oldest he calculated were roughly 100 years old.
